I'll stick with my *faith* comment. Last year, they were thinking of
booting the game over to ESPN2, not ESPN, which I *heard* is their
contractual right (not having read their contract with ESPN, I don't
feel right that I can say that their contract says X with ESPN). This
came from an interview with Steve L. in the Boston Globe (maybe ESPN
Sportzone) around the time of last year's final four.
Having negotiated 2 contracts with ESPN, I could also see where they
wouldn't necessarily have to show it live if their was *better*
programming (which they can determine in the sole and absolute
discretion).
