One of the Capital District papers had a front-page article last
Saturday about a woman who wanted to play at Hudson Valley CC.  Hudson
Valley does not have a women's team.  I wish I could recall all the
details, but essentially the gist was that the NJCAA either does not
allow women to play on men's hockey teams or does not have a provision
for this and schools don't have to allow it.  However, I seem to
remember it was unclear whether she did not make the team because of
this or because she just was not good enough (she seemed to think she
was, the coach said otherwise).  Maybe someone who has a better memory
than me or a copy of the paper can fill in the blanks.  I think I only
saved the sports pages. :-)
