I agree with Dan Glumac's comment that the game is out of control.  I
think that there is entirely too much HOOK, HOLD, SLASH, CLUTCH, GRAB
type of hockey being played.  The big loser when this type of hockey
is being played is the fan.  Hockey is meant to be a fast, exciting
game but when all of the above mentioned penalties are not being called
it makes for a very dull game.  Is it exciting to watch somebody being
hooked and held?
 
I think instead of getting on referees all of the time, that maybe
coaches deserve some of this abuse for coaching these tactics into
the game and then whenever these type of penalties are called you
immediately here the comment that THEY DID NOT LET US PLAY.
 
I would like to see college hockey clean up its act and eliminate
the obvious type of penalties that make the game boring.  At the
beginning of every year I hear that the WCHA is going to crack down
on hooking, holding and interferance.  This lasts for about 2 weeks
and the coaches start complaining and we are back to the same crap.
