I'm pleased to report that the Albert Church Brown Memorial Library In
China Village presented Maine folksinger Bill Berlinghoff in an outdoor
concert Sunday afternoon, and it went beautifully. Bill had been worried
that his indoor sound system wouldn't work well enough outdoors. He played
and sang from a corner of a medium-sized lawn, with a steep hill and the
wall of the library building behind him to help deflect sound outward, and
the volume was satisfactory.  The performance was more than satisfactory;
Bill has a repertoire that pleases and often amuses, and he intersperses
his music with information and anecdotes. Highly recommended from now
until first frost for those of you looking to bring audiences back. Bill
has a website; www.billberlinghoff.com. His fee for us (we're not far from
his home) was $150.
