*What is happening?*
On Wednesday morning a new front-end host for usm.maine.edu will be put in
place by updating DNS. The old front-end host will remain up for a while to
allow for DNS propagation.
*How long will it take?*
There is expected to be no downtime.
*Why is this work necessary?*
A new platform, with new security capabilities, will be put into place to
keep up with the requirements of web browsers.
*What happens if the work is not successful?*
If the new server does not take over for the old one within a reasonable
period of time then staff will troubleshoot it.
