This marks the fifth year of TCHCR and for something different, nothing
will be changing. That is, the criteria and formula stay exactly the
same as last season. Army has been included once again because of its
upgraded Division I schedule. Mass-Amherst will not be included because
it is not eligible for the tournament.
 
For the newcomers, there are still the "Inside TCHCR" documents
available by ftp from andy.bgsu.edu in the Hockey directory. The
HOCKEY-L oldtimers already know all about TCHCR, so that is enough for
now.

PERFORMANCE is based on won-lost record only; game sites and margin of
victory are not considered, for example. Performance ranges from +100
(for an undefeated and untied team) to -100 (for a winless and untied
team), with a .500 winning percentage getting a zero performance.
 
SCHEDULE is the average rating of a team's opponents.
 
RATING is the sum of performance and schedule and represents an
evaluation of how each team has done so far with respect to the rest of
college hockey.
 
Based on 171 Division I games. Only games between the 44 teams eligible
for the Division I tournament are considered.
