For those of you who are not enjoying the "improved experience" of
Cornell's "new and exciting service" (last year's Harvard game had
free streaming video with synced radio commentary via the HockeyCam;
this year you can pay $7/month for audio with no video; some
improvement), both of Cornell's hockey opponents this weekend should
have free radio webcasts; here are the links:
Harvard's Windows Media webcast is on WHRB:
http://www.whrb.org/
click on either "Regular Feed" or "Internet Only Sports Feed"
Brown's RealAudio webcast is at
http://www.onworldwide.com/Brown.html
Note that despite having their football and basketball broadcasts as
part of RealNetworks' pay-to-listen College Sports Pass, Brown was
able to provide hockey broadcasts for free. This brings into question
Cornell's explanation that they had to go to the pay service, despite
the existence of willing hockey volunteers, in order to be able to
provide football, basketball, and lacrosse webcasts.
