Subject: UAH 2, Army 1 on 1/7/00

The local Army residents showed up in force last night with 4,389 fans in the
VBC to see the puck delivered by a soldier rappelling from the rafters to
start the game. The Army team was scrappy, but UAH out-shot them 38 to 19.
Both teams went 0 for, on the power plays. UAH scored in the first period
with Ryan Leasa's first collegiate goal. Army came back in the second period
to tie the game. Plenty of back and forth action throughout the game. UAH
scored the game winner on a short-handed goal in the third period by Ron
Baker. Same teams tonight. UAH Hosts conference leader Niagara next
weekend. Bob Bergman
