Northern Michigan pulls out another shutout as they defeat the
Nebraska-Omaha Mavs 2-0.
 
Tough loss for UNO...they played really well but took 1 too many penalties
in the 2nd and NMU used that and a quality goal to sink UNO 2-0. Sidoruk had
a much stronger night in net than he did against MSU, standing on his head
at times, but I still think Kemp needs to give Rodney McLeod a start either
tomorrow or back in Omaha against Notre Dame.
 
Announcers are talking to Christian Graham (former UNO player, now strenght
coach or grad asst. or soemthing) on the post game show, "Matt Shegos is
usually a good ref" but both he and the announcers are complaining about the
abundance of calls. Said that if you look at the score sheet it looks like a
brawl happened but it was really about as low contact as you can get.
 
Oh well, it'll boost the penalty killer average (NMU went 1-10 - UNO has now
given up 6-30 thru 3 games), but UNO's power play is still as pathetic as
ever. 1-20 heading into today, and they went 0-7 tonight.
 
UNO has now been outscored in the 2nd period 7-0 thru 3 games. The scoring
in the other 2 periods is 4-6 or so.
 
Same 2 teams tomorrow night, UNO still looking for 1st conference points ever.
