I guess you have not watched the NHL lately, Sakic, Forsburg, Jager,
Lindros, Bure, Federov, Satan, Fleury, Allison, Samsonov, Madono, Anson
Carter etc can skate better than most (Proabably 95 %) college players,
also, both teams left in the playoffs both are great skating teams Buffalo
and Dallas. Especially dallas. I hear this argument all the time, oh college
hockey is so much better than the NHL, if that was true the NHL would be out
of business. I am a great fan of college hockey but I would much rather
watch the NHL than college hockey any day, one reason is the play is a lot
cleaner in my opinion, one dirty stick foul off comes the gloves and that
person thinks twice about hacking some one the second time around. The NHL
players are all around a lot better players as far as shooting, skating,
checking and the game has more of a flow to it. It is also exciting to see
the Fighting Sioux have so many players left in the finals. I had this
discussion with some people at work and it just make me laugh. As far as the
NHL going to the bigger ice sheet it won't happen, not everyone likes and I
think if you took a poll you would find that people don' t want to see, also
you would have the hockey purests down your troat. After watching the
olympics and college I think Olympic ice it is a hinderance, even the teams
that play on it have trouble holding the puck in on the power play, heck
watch MSC on a friday or Saturday night and you will see what I mean.
