Another possible problem in this situation is that, if I recall correctly,
the penalty clock on the new MSU scoreboard runs on its own timer. That means
that it sometimes clicks over to the next second at a different time than the
game clock. So...if the penalty was called at 7:30 and the goal was scored at
9:30 there is the possibility that the penalty clock could have a 1/2 second or
so left on it. In that case the penalty clock would still read :01 though the
game clock would indicate that exactly 2 minutes had expired from the time of
the first penalty. I don't know if that's what happened. I, unfortunately,
was at home some 450 miles away. But it is a possibility.
