*What is happening?*

  US:IT Staff will be performing maintenance on a portion of the the UMS
Single Sign-On system on Wednesday, January 29th, from 5 a.m. - 6 a.m.

  The actual downtime during the maintenance window is expected to be less
than 5 minutes, with the remainder of the time being reserved for testing
and verification to ensure that the changes are successful.

   During this work, there may be issues logging into MaineStreet,
BrightSpace, Box, Zoom, and other services that utilize the SAML protocol.

    *Access from MyCampus Portal to Mainestreet will be impaired.* *Users
needing to access MaineStreet should navigate directly to the MaineStreet
login page. *

   This maintenance work will not impact access to Blackboard, GMail, or
other services using the CAS protocol for single sign-on.

   Existing sessions to applications should not be disrupted.

   If you receive an error message, you should wait a few minutes and try
your request again.

*Why is it necessary?*

  US:IT is applying configuration changes to the UMS Single Sign-On system
in continued support of the new BrightSpace LMS and performing some
configuration changes to ensure that the service performs correctly as
additional new services are configured.
