Miami gets a story in the local paper

This is my second year at Miami University.  Each semester, I have had a
subscription to _The Cincinnati Post_.  Well, today I saw the first actual
story about Miami hockey in the paper.  The _Post_ covers Miami football and
basketball left and right.  Miami hockey is now #2 in the nation.  I could
imagine the Cincinnati people (who live only 35 miles away) reading this story,
and saying, "Miami has a hockey team?"
 
I was just wondering: How much do local papers cover the schools in the
Northeast and Michigan and Minnesota?
