The CCHA Refs who've come to Fairbanks so far this season have told the
scorers and announcers that there is no such thing as "Obstruction
Interference"-- it's just plain interference. Obstruction Hooking or
Obstruction Holding, OTOH, are hooking or holding that, like a basketball
pick, prevent a player without the puck from getting involved with the play.
I suspect that the terms are, practically speaking, simply a more precise
way of describing what was previously labeled "interference", when it was
called at all. (Topical analogy: We now call these guys Republicans and
Democrats, when we used to call 'em all "politicians".)
