I guess we can file this under Be It Ever So Humble . . .

I stand by my comments. The seats at Schneider are awful. It isn't just
that the angles are bad, but every section has railings by the front row
which obstruct your view. Where we were on Saturday night you couldn't see
the net because of the railings. The best seats are in the back row, which
is where we moved, but once you get there the angle of the opposite corner
is badly obstructed. Of course, being a numbers person means using your
calculator a lot, and it was Saturday night after all.

I have other beefs with Schneider. The PA announcer is an embarrassment,
and is better suited for tractor pulls than he is for hockey games. The pep
band is held in open disdain by the arena; they are allowed to play only
once every three stoppages while music is blasted over the PA system the
other two stoppages. And the number of empty seats are a particular eye
sore.

Now I am sure that Bill will defend his home rink to the end. He is
entitled, and I would do the same if I were in his shoes. Likewise I am
sure that there are plenty of folks out there with reasons to condemn Walter
Brown Arena. Fire away. So let me just say that IMHO WBA has some of the
best sight lines of any rink I've been to. The acoustics are outstanding,
making the fans and band an integral part of the game. It just doesn't have
the amenities that the more modern arena have. This will change when the
new arena is built. I am told it is being designed by the same architect
who designed Whittemore and Tsongas arenas, which are superior.

So let's hear about which arenas we love and which ones we hate. Yeesh.
Could this be the start of another thread? Perhaps there still is a pulse
here . . .
