There are some interesting precedents involving North Americans playing for
other nations' Olympic hockey teams.  BU two-time All-American Herb
Wakabayashi, a native of Ontario, represented Japan in the 1972 games.  Dave
Delfino, ULowell class of 1988, played goaltender for Italy in the 1994
games.  In the US-Italy matchup that year, BU's Dave Sacco (another two-time
All-American) scored on Delfino.  Delfino and Sacco were teammates at
Medford High School.
