New subject...

Recently, myself along with the rest of the Syracuse University
ACHA-Division-I team put together a 26-page proposal for the addition of
men's and women's hockey to Syracuse. In this proposal, we detailed how
the program would be able to be a revenue generating sport (on top of
the fact that we ALREADY generate revenue). In talking with Hockey East,
they expressed that a spot would be open to us if a team was added.

Unfortunately, the SU athletic department, while barring us from the
formal proceedings, turned down our proposal for budgetary reasons
saying it was 'completely unreasonable.' After meeting with athletic
director Jake Crouthamel, and presenting budgetary info from other
Division-I programs backing up our proposal, no response was given.

Outside of the proposal, I asked our athletic director if there was any
way in which the athletic department would support the hockey team as an
'experiment' to show what a Division-I team could do, especially with
the basis already there. I was told that we would not get any support
from them since, with our radio and TV deal along with our merchandising
through CCM (which we recieve no money from), we were a competitor to
them.
