The EMPIRE signal can occaisonally be found on C-Band on SSN-Extra which
is Satcom C1 Tr 1. The CU-Cu game was there (and on NESN the following
day at 2PM).

Some bars have the DSS dishes and a little card which enables tham to get
the signals free of charge. Every once an a while the DSS boys change
the encryption signal and you have to reprogram the card.

While I'm not saying that this is what happened, I used to see it on
C-Band back in the days of "free" c-band signals.

Next time Empire has the ECAC game, try C1 Tr 1 (Westmost satellite),
instead of the DSS stuff. Remember all the fun during last year's
regionals? My C-Band signal was fine, the DSS signals were blacked out.
