Nebraska-Omaha defeated Union 6-3 in front of an est. 7,500 (8,314 paid).
Leading the way for the Mavs was Jason Cupp, scoring the Mavericks first
ever hat trick. His first came 1:45 into the game, bringing the crowd into
the game right away and demoralizing Union.
 
UNO fan favorite Andrew Tortorella was suspended one game for violating a
tema rule. He's expected to play tonight.
 
Both teams were shutout on the power play. UNO went 0-4, while Union went 0-3.
 
They play again tonight at 7:05 Central time at the Civic Auditorium in Omaha.
