> "But I think that any time we get beat it's an upset."

This Parker comment (from my USCHO article) has generated some attention
but for all the wrong reasons.

To my mind, this comment explains why BU can go into games they
have no business winning and still win them. Anyone who doesn't
respect the job that this year's Terrier team performed either isn't
paying attention or has such ardent loyalties elsewhere that they
can look at the situation objectively.

This year's team overcame numerous obstacles and beat teams with more
pure talent. They did so by doing all the gritty, little things that
all overachieving teams must do to be successful. Although the last
few BU teams prior to this year have been so talented that Parker's
coaching skills have been overshadowed, Parker was masterful in his
coaching this year.

Fans can point to an individual game or two during the regular season
that their team beat, and perhaps whipped BU, but the fact remains that
only North Dakota beat BU when it really counted.

Has Parker earned the right to have this we-expect-to-win attitude?
Without question. BU has been to the Frozen Four seven out of the
last eight years. They've been to the title game three of the last
four years.

When Parker makes his "any time we get beat it's an upset" he's got the
track record to prove it.
