8 H2H meetings in one year?

BU, NU, and BC have the potential to meet each other 7 times every year (3
RS, Beanpot, 3 HE QF).  I'm surprised this hasn't happened yet (or perhaps
the HE 3x each schedule and/or 3-game QF have only been in place for a few
years?).
 
For that matter, in the 1988 season the WCHA had 35 conference games in an
8 team league -- i.e., 5x each (assuming it was balanced).  North Dakota
and Michigan Tech played a 3 game playoff, so that's 8 meetings right
there.
