>>>It' s only a matter of time before some hockey
player gets seriously injured because the refs cannot control the game<<<

Why is it only the responsibility of the ref to keep the players from
inflicting these kinds of injuries on each other??

What happened to the coaches taking the responsibility for making sure that
their players that their teams know that that sort of violent behavior is
unacceptable in their programs? Has the "win at all costs" attitude become so
prevelant that coaches are unwilling to bench a player until he learns to
keep his temper in check?

It used to be that the "bottom tier" teams in the CCHA picked fights with the
"top tier" teams because that was the only hope they had of winning the
game....get the other guys in the penalty box. Now the "top tier" teams are
fighting with each other instead of playing hockey. How dumb. Yes, the ref
is responsible for keeping the game under control, but when this sort of
thing keeps happening, the responsibility must be shared by all involved, and
that includes the coaches.
