I know this is a little off topic, but it is related to Hockey at SCSU.
 
Currently, our Sports Band is totally student run (except that I'm their
faculty advisor, not director).  It has been that way for about 5 or so
years.  The band members have not been paid for those 5 years.  When the
band was run thru the music department, the members were paid.  Now, the
music department wants to take control of the band again (because they
realize that it is the group that gets the most exposure).  But the band
doesn't want it.  The music dept. is trying to entice them by offering to
pay the players again.
 
So, now to my question.  Does anyone know if their Sports Bands are paid
to play?  If so, could I find out how much per event?  Or even better
yet, could you get me in touch with the director(s) of the Sports Bands
at your school?
