Tuesday, October 29, 1996
 
The University of Findlay hosted their first game as a varsity sport
taken on ACHA rival Kent State Tuesday night.  The Oilers scored six
times in the third period to win their first game of the season 11-4.
Troy Martin (London, ONT) lead the attack with 4 goals and 1 assist.
Jamie Brooks (Dayton, OH) also scored a hat trick for the Oilers that
played in front of a near capacity crowd of 700 fans.  Other goal
scorers were Dave Bell (Oak Lawn, IL), Jeff Roncone (Rochester, NY),
Scott Sowers (Findlay, OH), and Seth Monette (Mahtomedi, MN).
 
The Oilers next action is this weekend as they play Cortland at 4:30pm
in the Subway/Ice Griff Tournament hosted by Canisius College.  Canisius
hosts Brockport at 7:30pm.
 
Final score: Findlay 11   Kent State 4
             Findlay (1-2 overall record)
