I agree with Todd's read on the Wisconsin PP. With due respect to our friend
from St. Cloud, I was excited about how good the power play "looked". Even
though they didn't score much, they took shots and crashed the net. Two
habits that will produce goals.

I can't tell you how many times last season, and before, when I'd watch the
PP unit pass the puck around for ever, not take a shot and if they did shoot,
there would be no-one in front of the net to tap home a big rebound.

I remember watching Michigan on the PP in the College Hockey Showcase, and if
the puck got even close to the net, there were 3 blue guys all over the net.
That is power play common sense. We'll see how it goes this weekend against
a Denver team that apparently has some motivation problems with a few
players.

I think what most people were proud of was the fact that we actually got
some good shots on goal on the power play, as opposed to last year, when the
student section actually got the chant of "Sauer Play" going to the band's
chants of "Power Play."

Friday night was a nice sight, but Saturday looked like last year's bunch,
when UW couldn't even get the puck over blue more than once on some power
plays. It looked like they were waiting for SCSU to make a mistake.

Sometimes, you have to force the other team to make a mistake, though.

"I don't think they did their homework. We're not an eighth-place team."

to finish eighth in the conference.
