This very topic was discussed on WZON's (Bangor, ME) Coaches Show on
Tuesday 10/22/96.  Someone called in and mentioned the error in the
aforementioned article, and Maine Coach Greg Cronin pointed out
that a natural hat trick is indeed three consecutive goals.
 
Cronin went on to say, with a laugh, that maybe that reporter needs to
be educated on hockey terms.
