It was a great decision for Jason Botterill to stay at Michigan and finish his
education.  Many Clarkson fans will recall that a promising junior by the name
of Scott Thomas left for greener grass in the NHL.  Since then, Thomas has
spent most of his time bouncing around the AHL and IHL, with a very short stint
with the Buffalo Sabres.  However, Marko Tuomainen, a 1995 Clarkson graduate
passed up signing with after a stellar sophomore season to refine his skills at
Clarkson.  As a result, he went to Cape Breton for the 1995-96 campaign and had
a wonderful season earning him a real chance at the Oilers squad this year
(maybe to play alongside former Clarkson linemate Todd Marchant).
