Having been involved in the coverage of the incident at Michigan State, I'm
pleased to see that the Miami Tribe has taken this action. Miami of Ohio is
far too good a school to continue to be so politically insensitive. I'm
certain the school will do the right thing.

Could the current mascot flap have anything to do with the bad press Miami
received as a result of the "ice scalping" incidents a couple of seasons
ago?  If I were a native American, I could see some potential for offense at
that rather unsavory historical reference...
