Last year when the Sioux came down to play the Gophers in March, posters
were distributed to all fans. Late in the game, referee Chic Yackel (sp?)
missed a blatant hold call that ended up costing the Gophers a win. For
on the next rush, the Sioux scored the game tying goal.
Some fans got upset with officiating and threw posters on the ice, not at
the players, but at Yackel.  It is one of the only incidents of fans
throwing anything on the ice at Mariucci arena (both old and new).  I
think throwing something like half full juice bottles at a coach and
players is a little different.
