Dick Tuthill asked "whatever happened to Ian Boyce?"

For those of you who may not remember him, Boyce was an
exceptional forward for UVM from 1985-89. He is the Catamounts'
15th all-time leading scorer (49-83-132 in 126 games). Boyce
earned All-ECAC honors in 1988 and was an Honorable Mention
all-star in 1989.

After graduation, the Buffalo Sabres took Boyce with their
first pick in the 1989 Supplemental Draft. He began his minor
league career with Rochester of the AHL in 1990-91 (after spending
one season in Sweden) and was loaned to Fort Wayne of the IHL the same
year. Boyce has been with Fort Wayne ever since, although the Sabres
no longer own his rights. The forward scored a career-high 26
goals last year.

You might wonder why Fort Wayne would hang on to a 15-20
goal scorer for all these years ... but anyone who ever
saw Boyce play knows why. He is a great skater, relentless
fore- and backchecker, great penalty killer and a physical
player. He was the heart and soul of some great UVM teams.
