As I recall, all the PRIME games used the announcer of the cable system
that normally carried the conference or team (PASS, NESN, the Vermont
local pick up, and the Denver local pick up). I don't think PRIME does
anything but send a banner to the arena and change the gizmo they put on
the mics to plug the network. This explains, partically, why Denver is
being used. The local PRIME affiliate, which I get on satellite, showed
a Denver game almost every weekend last year. Why they choose not to
show the Minnesota or Wisconsin telecasts I don't know, but may have to
do with whether they give up the rights. Of course, NESN carries Hockey
East about as often as PASS carries the CCHA, so the heavy prepondernace
of CCHA games is still absurd. For me it is not a big deal because I get
both PASS and NESN.

All of the above is conjecture. However, before we start wishing for the
ESPNs to pick up games I'd like to remind readers that college hockey is
not a high, or even medium, priority for them, witness the cut away from
last year's NC$$ tournament. College hockey is hardly the jewel in the
crown for PRIME either, but at least it is a more important property for
them.
