There have been some excellent analyses of Harvard's downfall this
year...I will only add that I think a major factor was not just the loss
of defense, but the loss of offense from the defensemen who graduated...
McCann, Maguire and to a lesser extent Body, all carried the puck very
well out of their own end starting the breakout and offense effectively.
They also handled the puck extremely well on the point and in the
center ice area.
 
Also I heartily agree with Julian about the loss of Israel.  Leaving
aside the question of which player was more effective, it seems to me
that the rest and competition factor inherently brings about better
goaltending.

appreciated.
