Michigan State forward Anson Carter is the only repeat first-team performer
from last season, while defenseman Keith Aldridge moved up to the first team
this year. Holzinger, the only unanimous selection to the CCHA all-league
first team this year, becomes the third person in CCHA history to be a
unanimous selection to both the All-League First Team and the All-Academic Team
in the same year (joining Steve Bozek, NMU 1979-80 and 1980-81, and Paul
Pooley, OSU 1983-84). The remaining three first-team members (Chuck Thuss,
Kelly Perrault and Brendan Morrison) are all newcomers to the coaches all-
league teams.
Michigan State goaltender Mike Buzak and Michigan forward Mike Knuble received
second-team honors for the second consecutive year, while Wolverine defenseman
Steven Halko and Spartan forward Rem Murray moved from honorable mention to the
second team this year. Miami's Kevyn Adams and Ferris State's Andy Roach are
receiving league honors for the first time.
