Actually, the announcement was that the St. Paul Chamber of Commerce wanted to
withdraw sponsorship of both the WCHA tourney and the CCHA/WCHA Challenge.
There was a little blurb in one of the papers' gossip columns that University of
Minnesota officials (and perhaps WCHA officials, too, I'm not sure...) were
meeting with St. Paul officials and that chances were "good" that another
sponsor would be found and the tournaments would remain here.  Nothing final
yet, though.
 
Before the NBA stepped in to block the Timbies' move, I would have said that
perhaps this opened the door to move the tourneys to the Target Center, but now
I gather it's not even certain that they'll be able to fit the Gophers/Badgers
game into the schedule over there.
