The overall record of Colorado College was (23-11-5), they finished in
first place and that was a major accomplishment considering the WCHA was
very tough from top to bottom. It was a major travesty that Colorado
College was not one of the picks for the NCAA tournament. I wasn't
going to bring this up but Keith Instone mentioned it so I must comment.
Lets compare the WCHA with the CCHA this year. You have 2 extremely good
teams and 2 fairly good teams. You then have 3 or 4 teams that are easy
victories for the top 4. You compare Western Michigans close success to
that of Colorado Colleges. The WCHA didn't have 3 or 4 easy teams that
were consistently smucked. So Western Michigans success should be
attributed to a lack of competition by the bottom 3 or 4.This is not
meant to cut the CCHA down, It just so happens that the CCHA was
extremely top heavy this year. I really wish the selection committee
would have looked at this instead of a floppy disk print out.
