I saw something interesting on the college hockey forum on
AOL yesterday. It was a post from the assistant coach at Iona.
He said,
 
"Beginning next season, Iona is joining Army, UConn, Canisus,
Holy Cross, Fairfield and Villanova to form a new division I league.
1995-96 will be an exibition schedule with plans to play an
official schedule with playoffs and all-star teams in 1996-97."
 
The "playoffs" sound interesting. Will the NCAA grant the
winner an automatic bid? Are these teams leaving their
current conferences?
 
Anybody else heard of this?
