Just a quick note from Badgerland.
 
Dan Plante has signed a pro contract with the New York Islanders.
Plante will skip his senior year at UW.  Plante is a rugged winger
who finally discovered  a scoring touch last year.  He had 26 goals as
a junior, tied for the team lead with Jason Zent.
 
Zent is trying out for the US Olympic team.  If he makes the team or
doesn't return to school for some other reason the Badgers will be
losing a fair bit of scoring power.
