The Minnesota Golden Gophers won the WCHA Playoff Championship tonight in
the St. Paul Civic Center, henceforth to be known as "Mariucci East",
beating the Northern Michigan Wildcats 5-3.  The Gophers advance to the
NC$$ tournament, getting the automatic seed as conference tournament
champions.
 
The Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs took third place earlier in the day, with a
7-5 win over the Wisconsin Badgers.
 
Details later.  A good day for the Maroon and Gold.
