UMD beats MN 7-4, while Planteless.

Marinucci centered the first line, instead moving Marty Olsen up from
3rd line and leaving Rusty where he should be, with Marinucci.
They did not want to lose the combination of Biondi, Caruso, and
Osmak.

Marinucci had 2 goals, 2 assists.

UMD had 3 PP goals, 1 SH goal.

Also scoring for UMD were Rohloff, Biondi, Romfo, Hauer, and Parrot.

Tars Lendzyk made 36 saves for UMD.

First UMD sweep in Duluth since November 1980! wow!

Gophers outshot UMD 40-35.

Newman was pulled in the 3rd for Callinan after 6 goals.

The gophers were 3-11 on power plays.

There were 40 power plays this weekend. I don't remember a series so
controlled by penaltys.

Also a note on Plantes injury from Friday. He got it while scoring a
short handed goal.

It was a terrific series (for UMD) and it showed that we can come out
hard two nights and a row and even win a big game without Plante.
The fans were totally nuts, doing the wave, waving a countless number
of brooms and then the traditional (starting at the beginning of this
year) sweeping of the oppossing teams aisle with their brooms.
It was a the best weekend to be a Bulldog fan!

Next week is North Dakota! I will be there. If there are any UND fans
out there with suggestions of bars to hit after the game, please E-mail
me by Thursday night, thanks. I can't wait!

Well let me just get this out of my system.

SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP! :)

thank you,

Cheers, eh,
Jeff "KILLER" Boleman
