   I had no intention of posting on this topic, but the above may make
   it appear that I was trying to censor this discussion when I was not.
 
   I did reply to John's original posting refering to the "obscure
   comment" (my words).  Basically I suggested that I didn't like to see
   dirty laundry aired in public.  I certainly intended this as being a
   UMaine supporter and not as being HOCKEY-L administrator, though I
   can see now that my private letter was poorly worded.
 
   John later directly asked if I though a clarifying posting to
   HOCKEY-L was appropriate and I responded that it *was* an event
   related to college hockey.
 
Just to make things clearer about the reference, there were at least
three events concerning Maine fans and the regional.  The worst of these
is (an alleged) rape of an 18 year old Maine student by her companion
immediately before the Maine-MSU game.  Providence police are
investigating, with support of UMaine officials.  This (and the other
two events on which I have 2nd hand reports) are all alcohol related.
 
A few "representatives" of the school having given the school what feels
(to me) like quite a black eye.  :-(
