Is anyone really complaining about locations? I think all [some] Maine fans
would like to see is their team someday be a host team. Maine fans will
certainly fill the arena wherever it is. Frozen four location certainly had
no bearing in 1999 when THREE Hockey East teams and many of their fans made
the trip to Anaheim. Also, if I remember correctly, wasn't an Alaska team
the host for the Frozen Four that year? Just let Maine, someday, play host
team. Where it winds up being doesn't matter. I am living north of Philly,
which isn't such a bad location. Maine fans make the trip to Estero each
year in force, don't think they'd have a problem coming to Philly.

As far as the location and the host team, are these separate things? In
otherwords, isn't it the facility that goes for getting the bid or is it the
school itself (the one that wants to be the host)?

Hope my ramblings made sense to someone.

Maine/Minnesota is going to be a great game! The Black Bears will not feel
far from home with the support we all know they will have.

:)

Actually they would have to bid. The Michigan schools bid every year for the
tourney.
Maybe the Maine fans need to contact their school and get them to start
putting in bids to get the regional. I also believe they take into
consideration that some of the site that are selected are based on their
being a central location as well as being able to put people in the stands
Maine is kind of off the beaten path where are Worchester is a central
location for the schools in the area... Complaining about a location also
makes one sound like they are experiencing sour graps. UND was able to beat
UofM after playing three games in three nights playing in a building full of
their fans.

Minnesoter plays at home when Minnesoter hosts a regional, just like anyone
else. Same reason BU is playing in Woostah.
