I suspect that the rise in "machine readable" game summaries has lead to
more of these and less reportage.

I agree that G. M. Finness is greatly missed, both for his excellent
summaries and his insight into the game. BTW, how many consecutive
sell-outs at Munn???

Lastly, WE HAD A JOHN HAEUSSLER SIGHTING! He and several other UMich fans
accompanied the Wolverines to UAF last weekend, watching their team pull
out 2 very closely contested games in Fairbanks. A good time was had by all
(except for the game results, which we felt could have been improved upon).

The day prior to the first UM/UAF game, we all got together and watched an
exhibition between the NHL Oldtimers and some local players. UM Coach Red
Berenson, who still holds the NHL record of 6 goals in a single game,
played for the NHL team, along with Frank Mahovlich, Marcel Dionne, and
others. Berenson skated hard. Between the first and second periods, I
mentioned to John H that "Berenson looked pretty good out there." John
looked at me, made a face, and said: "He was minus one." Tough audience.

UAF-- Best 0-7 team on the planet!
