I don't think there was any intentional snubbing involved, and knowing Bob,
I consider him to be a man whose character cannot and should not be
impugned over this (thus Bruce's comments bothered me, although I
understand his frame of mind).  Rather, as I said earlier, I consider it
much more likely that the NCAA handed down the requirements that teams be
chosen for the regionals based on, as Rick Comley said, 1) attendance 2)
minimizing conference matchups; and the committee, including Bob, was just
following orders.
