Hi everyone

I’m hoping to get some insight on how plowing is handled at your libraries. Currently we have an MOU with the town stating that the town will plow our parking lot. We are a town department and funded fully by the town. Very often we are not plowed before staff arrive or even at all, unless I call to request we be plowed. We’ve been told (by both the DPW and the town manager) that we are not a priority for plowing and should consider getting a snowblower (no budget for this) or hire someone to shovel (not realistic given the size of our lot which can accommodate ~10 cars) if we want it done sooner. The trustees have discussed this with the town manager and not gotten much in the way of resolution. I plan to get quotes from local plowing companies so I can include this in our upcoming budget.

I would love to hear how you all handle this or if you have any thoughts or advice.

Thanks
Laura
