*What is happening?*
Starting at 6AM Sunday morning we will be rebuilding the LDAP database on
NameP and then we will apply security updates and reboot.
All of the services provided by NameP are also provided by NameO and so no
user facing services should be significantly affected.
*How long will it take?*
We expect this to take about 20 minutes. We are reserving additional time
in case problems arise.
*Why is this work necessary?*
From time to time the LDAP database becomes fragmented and must be rebuilt
to maintain performance. For security and support reasons we need to
keep our systems running on recent well supported operating systems.
What happens if the work is not successful?
We will back out to a snapshot of this machine taken prior to application
of the changes.
