In the spirit of playoffs, I thought some of you big-timers might be
interested in the small(er) time national playoffs.

Sorry its so late coming, but my internet connection is at the office, not at
home. Furthermore, all I have is radio accounts.

Friday Afternoon:

        Elmira 1 0 1 = 2
        UW-Stevens Point 3 0 4 = 7

I heard the broadcast and it sounded like Point dominated play in periods one
and three and that period two was very even. Both teams scored at least one
shorthanded goal. Beyond that, I can't say.

Friday Evening:

        UW-River Falls 4
        Plattsburgh State 2

All I have is an announcement of the final score, no details.

Point will play River Falls for the title tonight. While I am happy for River
Falls, I am personally disappointed because I wanted to see us play
Plattsburgh again. If a little mild crowing isn't in bad taste, let me also
point out that the #s 1 and 3 teams from the NCHA are playing for the national
title and the # 2 team (Bemidji State) won the Div II title. This may not
make the NCHA the strongest Div III league, but it does indicate it is *one*
of the best.

Good fortune to everyone still playing and may the best teams win.
