When a form works, use it - merci Tom (ala Stevens Point)
Opening Round:
Minnesota over Clarkson
Despite Clarkson's new found form, the Golden Gophers
find the Worcester ice to their liking, and spend the
night weak-siding the Golden Knights.
Wisconsin over Miami
The Redskin put on a ton of pressure, but Carey is up
to the task, as the Badgers just get by a powerful
Miami team (who goes on to crush the CCHA next ...)
Minnesota-Duluth over Brown
The Bulldogs of the North prove too big and quick for
the Bears. Brown finishes a grand season in style
nevertheless.
NMU over Harvard
The Wildcats continue their hot play dominating all
aspects of play. The Crimson look back on a season
that should have ended better.
Second Round - Quarterfinals:
Minnesota over Maine
I would prefer Kariya and company to light up the
whole playoffs, but those pesky Gophers play it
tight and make the most of their chances.
Wisconsin over Michigan
Flying high, Buckie eats up the cooled down
Wolverines. Red tries to figure out what is wrong
with his mix.
Minnesota-Duluth over LSSU
The Bulldogs on a roll, push aside the Lakers. The
battle of the giants is close, but Plante makes the
difference, and the Lakers fall to superior style.
NMU over BU
The Wildcats score multiple short-handed goals as
they best Jackie Parker, who now wants both nights
off.
Semifinals:
Wisconsin over Minnesota
In a heated rematch, the Badgers just slip by the
Gophers. In the end Wisconsin's offense prevails.
Minnesota-Duluth over NMU
Revenge proves sweet, as this time Northern is just
too tired for the proud and strong Bulldogs.
Final:
Minnesota-Duluth over Wisconsin
The pressure of being in-state is too much, as Duluth
pulls out the final with an goal scoring orgy: 6-3.
(or, I wish: The orgy is Maine's, as the Black Bears
let it rip 9-6 over Minnesota-Duluth.)
