I joined the list waaaayyyy back in 1990.  I think there were only about 50
people on the list at the time.  I had just moved to Arizona from Minnesota.
 The Internet was not what it is today.  The campus computer I worked on was
a mainframe style terminal.  So even if there were college hockey web sites
at the time, I couldn't get to them.

Living in the desert, Hockey-L was my only link to knowing what was going on
with the Gophers.  Many thanks to Erik and Carol for keeping me up on the
weekend scores and standings.  I always looked forward to logging in on
Monday morning and getting the updates.
