Dartmouth scored a delayed penalty goal at 9:48 of the first period and
then rallied around Big Green junior goaltender Dan Yacey's 32 saves to pin
another late-season shutout on Brown tonight at Meehan Auditorium. The
Bears tried mightly to extricate themselves from what has become a pervasive
scoring slump, but could not solve the Big Green's defensive zone coverage
and Yacey's spectacular performance.

The first Dartmouth goal came suddenly as referee Tim Kotyra had
signaled an interference penalty on the Bears. Before the Big Green could
get an extra man into the fray, junior forward Nathan Szymanski gained
control of the puck on the edge of the right faceoff circle and fired a
wrister on Brown senior goalie Yann Danis. The shot deflected off a
Dartmouth players' shin pad and past Danis for what was to become the
game-winning goal. Danis posted a game total of 24 saves and held the Bears
in the game until being pulled for a sixth attacker at the 18:45 mark of the
final period. The Big Green then added two empty-net goals at 18:56 and
19:53 to ice the victory.

The Bears' ECAC record drops to 12-7-2 (14-9-5 overall) and they are
faced with a must-win situation at Meehan tomorrow evening against Vermont
in order to protect the last remaining first-round bye in the upcoming ECAC
Championship Tournament.
