It was over almost as soon as it started Sunday night at Achilles, as
Union scored 4 first-period goals and coasted to an 8-0 non-league win
over Connecticut. 7 players scored goals for Union, led by freshman
Jonathan Poirier's first two career goals. Freshman Kris Mayotte
stopped all 15 shots he faced.
The 8-0 win was Union's most lopsided since January 27, 1995, when
they defeated Air Force by a 10-0 score at Achilles.
Union stands at 5-4-3 overall. They return to league action next
weekend with a tough road trip, visiting Harvard on Friday and Brown
on Saturday. UConn falls to 3-7-1.
